I indulge in self entertainment. No, not that sort.

Well, even if it's THAT sort of self entertainment, I wouldn't be writing about it here. It is purely for personal satisfaction.

I'm talking about my occasional appearance for adverts, independent films and free-to-air dramas. With my inappropriate for camera looks, disproportionate physique and ungainly gait, I do have to say that luck played a huge part in me getting roles as an Extra. Or as they like to make it sound better, Talent.

I was even in an HPB shoot for the National Steps Challenge. Some food truck thingy. I didn't get to try the food, had to return that yummy smelling packet...

Heck, even my hand was chosen to hold the iPhone for that steps counter shot (0:36).

I'm suaku, I know

The amazing thing was that it only showed a green screen so that they could take their time to decide what to superimpose later on. I had to hold the phone steady, to make their job easier in the back end. Most stressful part of the filming that day.

Looking back at a past filming, maybe my wardrobe should have more colours. Apparently I like blue, a lot.
CID in the house!
Think this was a couple years back for a Starhub TV shoot, an independent drama called Jump Class. And was probably my first real shoot, having interactions with some relatively well-known actors. Wang Yu Qing and Zhang Wen Xiang, who were both consummate professionals through and through. Wang Yu Qing was even continually practicing his lines, albeit with different variations and intonations to find which best suits the scene. I had to arrest him in one scene, that really believable bad guy.

The last couple of forays into Mediacorp were for a Ch8 drama, where I had the greatest pleasure of sharing the scene with Joanne Peh and Yao Wen Long. Can't remember the title now, also cos mine was such a bit part that I think even I would miss it, but do click on the link, and add some likes to my instagram. Followers too. Blatant advertising.

Well, that's about it for now, though I did have a scene for this #WhyBeTowkayTan shoot. But it was mostly the back of my head.

I napped and snored on this sofa

Not really complaining since I was hungover and really needed to close my eyes. I dun think it's out yet, since it was only filmed a couple of Saturdays ago.

Mid-CNY

Right, so I'm back on this cos I'm a little bored at work.

It's a Friday, and so far I have:
  1. helped a colleague choose cuff-links online (though she isn't buying them for me, damn it)
  2. taken part in an online contest to win a free retro looking keyboard (LOFREE, I'm adding this awesome link for any soul here to have a chance to win too)
  3. cleared some Alliance Quest nodes in Marvel's Contest of Champions. My Alliance is Singapore Chillax Alliance btw, in case you are also playing and need some company.
Ok, as I promised to myself, we shall move on to current affairs.

HDB is going to spend S$100mil on lift maintenance. That's good, so hopefully we do not see anymore pets on leashes getting BDSM freaky with the lifts. You have to bear in mind, they can't really speak, so 'Bark Bark Woof Woof' could either be "Ooh yeah baby tighter' or their safe-word, kind of hard to tell so let's not play guess what they mean with your pets.

Road safety next. I think road accidents are very much in the news lately. From drivers doing illegal turns, dashing through red lights, sio kan lor (heading the wrong direction) idiots, hit and run bastards (both on the roads and in carparks) and clowns who squeeze their cars at speed through tight and heavy traffic. My personal two cents worth is that this is not a new spat of incidents. All these have been going on since the first cars were sold on our shores.

The first variable that has changed, is the widespread implementation of the in-car camera, which was once upon a time most likely first introduced in a Merc S-Class. The second variable, is definitely the viral usage of social media. Even my 73 year old aunt uses FaceBook and Instagram!! So for those out there who forgot what they learnt during their driving lesson days, I think just simple common sense would prevent you from being filmed by the massive number of car cameras these days. Or if you think you feel like contributing to our reserves via fines, who am I to judge.

I shall not touch on politics as of now, since I can't really be bothered to follow the Trump nonsense. Or the Philippine drug war. Or the Brexit hooha. All I know is, Son Goku of the DragonBall franchise is the mascot for the 2020 Japan Olympics, and that is just awesome.
